Hi, I'm Teresa
(AMFT 135459, supervised by Sandy Kong, LMFT 119380)
I believe life is a journey of becoming of learning to love ourselves whole heartedly. This journey involves revisiting past parts of ourselves and understanding how our past relationships and experiences influence our behaviors in the present. By gaining an awareness we have the ability to change self-defeating behavior patterns and the thoughts that drive those behaviors. Therapy is a place for healing wounds of the past so that we can live a life filled with love and enjoyment.
My goal as a therapist, is to help instill hope and confidence in those who may be in a dark place. I have a passion for creating reparative experiences through the therapeutic relationship. I believe every individual possesses unique strengths and treasures. I will walk alongside you on your road of self-discovery while you explore your own unique strengths and identify the treasures in your life.
My areas of specialty are adolescence, teens and families. I have worked with justice involved youth and families, youth in the foster care system and youth and teens who were detained at the border. Educationally I have specialized in Correctional and Latino psychology. All of these areas have a strong focus in treating trauma. In past roles I have trained teachers, probation officers and Judges in trauma informed practices.

I look forward to the opportunity of meeting you and hope I can provide you with the care and support you are looking for.
